Myths and romantic legends apart, Ethiopia became from the origin of the custom of drinking coffee in one of the main producers and exporters of grains in the world, keeping today its importance in the international market. It is a very large country whose extension and peculiar terrain allow to cultivate different varieties of the plant, with large differences in coffee beans according to each region.
When we talk about Ethiopian coffee, the most gourmets know that it is a prestigious origin, since the Arabic variety so appreciated by baristas and consumers originated precisely in their lands. Currently, coffee production remains one of the key drivers in the country's economy, assuming up to 60% of the income they receive from foreign trade. It is the seventh world coffee producing country and the most important in all of Africa, also generating millions of jobs on which a large part of its population depends.
